What is "unlocking"?
"Unlocking" a wireless device (cellphone, tablet, etc.) refers only to disabling software that would prevent a consumer from attempting to activate a device designed for one carrier's network on another carrier's network, even if that network is technologically compatible.
When can I unlock my Southern Linc device?
Your Southern Linc device is eligible to be unlocked upon completion of your service agreement, as long as your account is in good standing and all balances owed on your account have been paid. Devices reported as stolen may not be unlocked. If you are not a current Southern Linc customer, you may be subject to a device unlocking fee.
If you are a member of the military and are scheduled to be deployed outside of the Southern Linc Regional service territory, your device is eligible to be unlocked upon showing your deployment papers and after all balances owed on your account have been paid. The Southern Linc Regional service territory can be found on our website at Regional Service Area.

Are there other wireless carriers' networks on which I can activate and use my unlocked Southern Linc device?
